Trellian FTP - Getting Started GuideThis is a basic guide on how to use Trellian FTP
TrellianFTP is a nifty little program that connects to ftp servers and allows you to upload and download files etc. Firstly to use TrellianFTP you need to make sure you are connected to the internet. If you connect to the Internet through a proxy server click on "Options/Preferences" and then click on the proxy or firewall option and then enter the valid information. |  Note: Most FTP servers are most comfortable running in "Binary" mode. |

 | Then once you Internet connection is optimised, you can connect to a FTP server. TrellianFTP comes with a built in list of popular FTP servers, but if you want to enter your own you can. To enter one of the pre-selected FTP servers select one of the servers in the list of servers. To connect to the server double click on it, TrellianFTP will now connect to the server. Once you are on the server you can upload or download as you wish. To download a selected file make sure you have the destination directory selected in the left hand window. |

Uploading Files/Images to a webhosting service or another server using Trellian FTP
First to upload a file/image to a web hosting service or other FTP server you must be a member to the service, this entitles you to connect to the server using the username and password that you received upon signing up, or you could connect using an anomynous login. Select help in the "Help" menu of Trellian FTP to read up on some of the basic aspects of Trellian FTP if you are a new user. It is also recommended to read the help FAQ on uploading in the Web Site Hosting services "Help" feature, which is usually located in the members area of the site. Most Site Servers suggest that the uploading of the file/s should be done in "binary" mode, select the "binary" mode if it says to do so. The "Binary" mode selection is located in the middle bottom of the main window.  To enter a new FTP address into Trellian FTP, click on new in the file menu. |  ...or on the "New FTP Session Profile" button that is located to the very left of the toolbar. |

| In the window that appears: |  1.) In the "Host Address" area please enter the FTP address of the site (ie. ftp.Webserver.com)
2.) Enter a suitable name for the Website Hosting service (ie. AngelFire) into the "Profile Name" section of the "New Session Profile" window.
3.) In the Username and Password fields, enter the account name and password that you received from the Web Hosting service when you signed up.
Once the valid information is entered click on the connect button, it should connect to the FTP server. |

| To copy a file from your computer onto the server, open up the correct directory in the "Local Directory" window. Select the file/s you wish to copy and then click on the upload button. The file will then be transferred to the server. Another way to upload files is to drag them to the "Remote Directory" window. Upload all of your website/files/images to the server that you need or want to. |  |
